EMMER FLOUR
EMMER FLOUR
Milled from Obsidian Black Winter Emmer grown at Weatherbury Farm (see the Emmer growing in the field !)
Emmer is one of the three ancient hulled wheats.
A modern day health food with its high levels of fiber and protein. Its weak gluten makes emmer easier to digest.
Use in almost any dish from breads and rolls to cookies & cakes to pancakes & pasta.
Emmer wheat is also known as Khapli wheat in India and is known as Farro in Italy.

Storing Weatherbury Farm Products
Storing Weatherbury Farm Products
Flours, Rolled Products & Berries:
Weatherbury flours, rolled products or berries are real food and insects find them tasty.
They should be stored in the refrigerator. If you will not be using immediately, keep in the freezer, especially in warm weather.
We have had reports from customers that even after two years they still work and taste great. We wouldn’t, however, recommend storing them that long.
Although there are organic pesticides, we do not use them, either on the grains in the field or the products we mill.
If you store the flours, rolled products or berries in a tightly lidded bucket, you will open your bucket and find bugs slipping into what you thought was an impenetrable space. If you have been storing organic flours, milled products & berries in a lidded bucket and there are no bugs, then an organic pesticide has been used.
Beans:
Keep the beans in a cool, dark, dry place. Dry beans will, over time, take longer to cook (but they still have great flavor).
